Export market delivering for BS Holdings

Northern Ireland’s leading manufacturer of modular heating systems, BS Holdings, has announced an increase in annual turnover of 600% for the 2014-2015 period with figures set to rise further as the company completes its first phase of exports to the UK.

With an established reputation for supplying unique biomass heating systems to organisations in Northern Ireland, the key focus for 2015 is on developing BS Holdings’ footprint outside of Northern Ireland and this approach is certainly paying off.

Within the first quarter of 2015 BS Holdings manufactured, supplied and worked with sister company Sheridan & Hood to install its their first five modular biomass systems in the UK including the new Volkswagen Showroom in Blackburn, the first Junair spray booth in England, a Jaguar / Landrover body shop in Carluke Scotland, a used car dealership in Blantyre, Scotland and a Ford showroom, workshop and body shop in Chelmsford Essex. Through investing in unique BS Holdings systems, these companies will save in excess of £260,000 in heating costs collectively and 1,412 tonnes of CO2 removed from the UK climate over the next 12 months. 

Commenting on the exports, Brian Hood, Managing Director, BS Holdings said, “We’ve had a fantastic year so far and the success of our systems in delivering significant environmental and cost saving benefits for companies across Northern Ireland has allowed us to successfully bid for additional projects across the UK. We now expect to manufacture and install a minimum of 11 systems throughout the UK before the end of 2015 - an incredibly healthy order book worth more than £2 million.”

Within the local market BS Holdings has assisted over ten companies in Northern Ireland, from golf clubs and car dealerships to manufacturing and construction companies, making the move to renewable energy during 2014, many companies have taken multiple systems and one with nine. Each organisation also received support from the team at BS Holdings when applying for the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive* (RHI), resulting in combined £411,278 savings on energy bills and a reduction of 1,093 tonnes of carbon offsets annually.
